Building Better Homes at Maranui St with Wolfbrook
Just 300 metres from Arataki Beach, six new townhouses are taking shape at 33 Maranui Street in Mount Maunganui. The development is being delivered by Wolfbrook Residential, and we're proud to be their plumbing and drainage partner on the project.
It's the kind of job we enjoy most. A tight urban site, a mix of two- and three-storey homes, and a developer who expects things done properly the first time. Here's a look at what we're doing on site and why it matters.
What we're delivering
Our scope on Maranui St covers two big pieces of work.
Stormwater and wastewater drainage. Before a single wall goes up, the drainage has to be right. We're installing the stormwater and wastewater systems for the whole site, connecting all six homes to the council network. On a multi-unit development, this is the part nobody sees once the job is finished — but it's the part that decides how well the homes perform for decades to come. Good falls, the right pipe sizes and clean connections mean fewer blockages, fewer call-backs and far less maintenance for future owners.
Full internal plumbing fit-out. Once the homes are framed, our plumbers take care of the full internal plumbing for all six townhouses — from rough-in through to final fit-out of kitchens and fully tiled bathrooms. With three-storey homes in the mix, careful planning of pipe runs between levels is key. We work closely with the builders so everything lands in the right place, on time, without holding up the next trade.
Why developers choose a plumbing and drainage partner
Townhouses and multi-unit dwellings are where much of the Bay of Plenty's building activity is happening right now. For developers, the pressure is real — tight programmes, tight margins and buyers who expect quality.
That's why having one partner handle both drainage and plumbing makes such a difference. One team, one point of contact, and no gaps between the below-ground work and what happens inside the homes. It means clearer communication, fewer surprises and a smoother handover at the end.
On every commercial project, we make sure at least one qualified and experienced plumber or drainlayer is on site, depending on the complexity of each task. So the developer knows there's always an experienced hand on the job.
Safe and tidy, every day
A busy multi-unit site has a lot of trades working side by side. We follow Safe365 and Totika health and safety systems, with checks before and after every job. That keeps our part of the worksite safe and tidy all day, every day — and it gives developers and project managers the confidence that we're doing things the right way.
Keeping everyone in the loop
From lead-times to what's happening on site this week, we keep our clients updated at every stage. No radio silence, no guesswork. It's a simple approach, but it's one that builds strong working relationships — and it's why so many of our clients come back to us project after project.
Four generations of getting it right
We've been part of the Bay of Plenty since 1927. In that time, we've seen a lot change in the way homes are built, but the basics haven't. Do the work properly, be honest about what it takes, and look after the people you work with.
Maranui St joins a growing list of multi-unit projects we've delivered across the region, including our work at Grace Rd and the Kāinga Ora housing development in Whakatāne. We'll share more as the Maranui St homes near completion.
