Family owned and locally run since 1927.
Four generations. One standard.
Armstrong Plumbing started in 1927, and it's still run by the Armstrong family today. Four generations on, we're a Tauranga-based plumbing, drainage and civil business working on projects right across the Bay of Plenty.
We work with property developers, project managers, commercial property owners and homeowners, on everything from new builds to maintenance. Most of our work is commercial and civil, but we've never lost sight of where we started: looking after local homes and the people who live in them.
Being a family business shapes how we work. Family values and ethics are at the heart of what we do, and it's why our customers choose to work with us again and again.
What we stand for
History. Nearly a century of experience is our proof that quality lasts.
Expertise. Qualified, experienced plumbers and drainlayers on every project.
Safety. Safe365 and Totika systems, with checks before and after every job.
A great team. We build a crew who enjoy their work and have room to grow.
Transparency. Clear pricing, clear lead-times and clear communication.
Quality isn't a slogan for us. It's in the details: the person who turns up on site, the tidy worksite at the end of the day, the phone call you didn't have to make because we'd already updated you. That's what we mean by where quality runs deeper.
Local, and proud of it
We're independently owned and based in Tauranga, not a branch of a national company. We're an Approved Council Contractor for Tauranga City Council and Western Bay District Council, and a Master Plumbers member.
Meet the Team
Behind every job is a crew who take real pride in their work, and each other. Here are some of the people you'll meet.

Scott Woodhouse
Estimator
I look after our quoting and tendering, working across everything from smaller residential jobs through to large commercial projects. Before moving into estimating, I spent years on the tools as a plumber, so I bring plenty of practical experience and a good understanding of what’s actually involved in getting a job done. These days, I’ve swapped the tools for plans and spreadsheets, making sure our jobs are accurately priced and ready to go.
Project Manager - Certifying Plumber & GasfitterGerard Lochhead
My role involves managing projects from planning through to completion, coordinating staff and solving problems on site, and maintaining clear communication with clients, builders and other trades. Having worked on the tools myself, I understand the practical side of the job and what it takes to deliver quality workmanship while keeping projects on track.

I’m usually the first person you’ll speak to when you get in touch with us. I look after our maintenance bookings, chat with homeowners about what they need help with, and organise our plumber to get out to the job. I help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes and make sure our customers are looked after from that first phone call.
