Plumbing & Drainage for the New Truckstops Facility at Tauriko
When iLine Construction set out to build the new Truckstops heavy vehicle service facility in Tauriko Business Estate for Sime Darby Property (NZ) Limited, they needed a plumbing and drainage partner who could handle a job this size. That's where our team came in.
We completed all the plumbing and drainage work for this $12 million development, delivered over nine months and completed in March 2026. It's a great example of the kind of commercial and civil work we do every day across the Bay of Plenty.
A facility built to handle the big stuff
This isn't your average building. The high-bay workshop was purpose-built to service large commercial trucks, with service bays, dedicated service pits, dangerous goods control zones and extraction systems. A job like this needs plumbing and drainage that's planned properly from the ground up.
Our crew worked alongside the structural, architectural and mechanical teams to get everything right. When you've got service pits, a wash bay and a rainwater catchment system all working together, there's no room for guesswork. Every connection has to be in the right place and built to last.
Civil and drainage work that does the heavy lifting
Beyond the building itself, the project involved serious civil and infrastructure work. We're talking underground services, stormwater management systems and site drainage across large concrete hardstand areas. This is the work most people never see, but it's what keeps a facility like this running smoothly for years to come.
A sealed rainwater catchment system also feeds the wash bay operations, which is a smart, practical solution for a site that deals with plenty of water.
Why this matters
Projects like Truckstops Tauriko show what we bring to the table. We've got the qualifications, the gear and the experience to deliver large-scale plumbing and drainage work safely and to a high standard. As a fourth-generation family business that's been going since 1927, we know how to be a reliable partner on a big build, working in with the wider team and getting the job done with no fuss.
We're proud to have played our part in this one.
